Paraffin Wax is a colourless or white colored soft solid product derived from coal, petroleum, etc. It is comprised of a mixture of hydrocarbon molecules having carbon atoms from twenty and forty. This remains at the solid state at room temperature and starts melting above the temperature of 37 °C (99 °F). This is available in pure and highly effective form to be used in varied applications from electrical insulation, lubrication, and candles. Besides this, it is also used for carving original models, impregnating tissue before sectioning thin samples, etc.
